Social Media Madness And How Important Is It For You?

It is clear technology, web and social media control a large part of our lives today. You go where everyone else is going. It is good to be updated with latest news, trends and gossip. Even the communication with friends and family takes place online. That is understanding- you have everything within the reach of your hands and in one place too- your phone or laptop. It is good to have a desire to be in the loop and to know what is happening around the world. I can even say, I encourage the wish to learn something new. As long as it is within the reasonable category and time limit. I enjoy looking for blog ideas on other blogs, Pinterest and YouTube. It feeds my creativity and opens up a different point of view on content.
Different is to say the same for social media. The more you use it, the more additive it becomes. All the new influencers you need to check out, photos you need to like when you were asleep and all the memes you need to tag your friends in. It all becomes overwhelmed and you simply need to keep up with everything so you can talk with your friends about it or else you will be left out. In fact, the society and who you are hanging out with plays a big role in this. It is harder to avoid social madness when you're surrounded with those who love to open Instagram app every hour to scroll through their feed and hit the like button to every photo their Instagram idols posted in the last sixty minutes.
Nothing is lost if you decide to switch off your phone and convince your mind you don't need to know who ate what for dinner and each name of five goldfish someone across the ocean got yesterday. I used to love spending time on my phone everytime I got a new account on a new social media platform. That lasted about two weeks before realizing it isn't worth spending my time this way. As Rick Warren said,

“Time is your most precious gift because you only have a set amount of it. You can make more money, but you can't make more time. When you give someone your time, you are giving them a portion of your life that you'll never get back. Your time is your life. That is why the greatest gift you can give someone is your time."

And the older I get, the more I value my time and on what or where I spend it. Nothing and no one (and I mean it) is allowed to waist your time by frivolous demands. You don't like it- move on. If it holds a deeper meaning to you- stick to it.

How important is time for you and to whom you whole-heartedly like to give it?

Thank you for reading.

I wish you a nice week ahead.
